Winter Assembly

By Maisha Billah

On December 18, CHS held its annual Winter Concert assembly. Not a time for students to catch of on sleep, the assembly allowed students to enjoy some holiday music and get their spirits up for winter break, which happens to be right around the corner.

Performances were made by Centennial’s very own orchestra, band, madrigals, and choir groups. The assembly started out with the well known song, Viva la Vida, by Coldplay. The orchestra had its own version of this popular tune, which the audience enjoyed. “I liked the song Viva la Vida because I like that song, and it was cool to hear it live from the band,” said sophomore Daksh Garg.  The assembly continued with the classical song, Greensleeves, an acappella by the madrigals, and much more.

Overall, the assembly was a success to most students. “I liked the jazz band most of all because they made everything exciting!” said junior Ciara Stout.

However, students also thought that parts of the assembly could be improved upon. “I think that the assembly should have been longer because I liked the music that they played and I thought that they should have played more songs, preferably ones that we have heard of before,” said Garg. “Everyone watching should have cheered louder!” said Stout.
